The implantable single-use device is comprised of Poly L Lactic Acid threads dotted with Glycol-Lactide (PLGA) resorbable cones, which dissolves into the skin. The threads acts as a scaffolding under the surface of the skin where it helps to lift the sagging skin. In addition, the cones both hold the threads in place and stimulates the body’s own production of collagen to replace lost facial volume. Poly-L-Lactic Acid is a fully re-absorbable and biocompatible component. The sutures are made of polylactic acid which gradually dissolves, leaving behind natural collagen growth. The bi-directional cones on each side of the suture, are made up of a mixture of lactic and glycolic acids.
The cones help to keep the suture threads in place. The threads work by stimulating the patient’s collagen into production, a process called neocollagenesis. The suture material will dissolve gradually.
